Intern Spotlight Series: Introducing interns Jaydyn Stockdale, Ryan Carroll, Ahmed Jama and Susanthi Grace Yalagada

We’re thrilled to keep the momentum going with our Intern Spotlight Series! In the coming weeks, we will be introducing each of our summer interns, showcasing their backgrounds, professional interests, and aspirations. This week, we are honored to present Jaydyn Stockdale, Ryan Carroll, Ahmed Jama and Susanthi Grace Yalagada.

Jaydyn Stockdale

Jaydyn is an underwriting intern with Striior this summer. He is currently studying at Illinois State University and is eager to gain meaningful experience in the insurance industry. He shared that he hopes to develop new skills, build professional connections, and enjoy a rewarding and engaging internship experience.

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Jaydyn first learned about Intact at his university’s internship fair. He noted that his interview experience stood out from the rest. “I had a great conversation, and during the interview process, I could tell that I would be a great fit. The warm atmosphere made it my best interview yet,” he shared.

Outside of his professional interests, Jaydyn enjoys discovering unique places and experiences. If given the chance to travel anywhere in the world, he would visit Socotra Island to see the island’s famous dragon trees. He also recently started watching Love on the Spectrum, a television series on Netflix.

Ryan Carroll

Ryan is also an underwriting intern with Striior this summer. Originally from Naperville, Illinois, Ryan is currently studying at Illinois State University and is eager to deepen his understanding of the insurance industry. He shared that he looks forward to gaining hands-on experience, strengthening his communication and problem-solving skills, and building meaningful relationships with his team.

Ryan was drawn to Intact by its dynamic and forward-thinking culture. He noted that “Intact’s ambitious, competitive, and innovative culture will provide a great deal of growth for any intern,” and he is excited to be part of such an environment.

If Ryan could travel anywhere in the world, he would visit Japan for its rich culture and innovation. He also recently watched The Chosen, a television series he found both engaging and thought-provoking.

Ahmed Jama

Ahmed is a legal intern with our claims team, working out of the Plymouth, Minnesota office this summer. He is currently a law student at Mitchell Hamline School of Law and is returning to Intact for a second summer. As a rising third-year law student, he is eager to build on the foundation he established last year and continue developing his expertise in insurance law. Ahmed hopes to gain a “more nuanced view of the products offered by Intact,” while continuing to strengthen the valuable mentorships he built with the legal team during his previous internship.

Ahmed grew up in Salt Lake City, has also lived in the D.C. metro area, and moved to Minnesota in 2019. After being exposed to insurance law during his first summer of law school, he quickly realized that this was the field of law he wanted to specialize in. With that in mind, he was drawn to Intact’s “specialization in unique and complex lines of business” with the hopes of “being exposed to intricate and diverse insurance policies,” he says.

If given the chance to travel anywhere in the world, Ahmed would choose to visit East Africa, particularly Kenya. He also recently watched Shōgun, a historical drama series on Hulu.

Susanthi Grace Yalagada

Susanthi is an underwriting intern in the New York office this summer, joining us from St. John’s University. She is looking forward to gaining real-world experience in the field of underwriting, particularly within a global and dynamic environment like Intact. “I’m excited to apply what I’ve learned in my academic studies and build a deeper understanding of risk assessment, pricing, and decision-making,” she shares. “I also look forward to learning from my team and mentors—absorbing their expertise, collaborating on real cases, and growing both technically and professionally.”

Originally from India, Susanthi was drawn to Intact by its strong reputation and commitment to innovation. “The slogan ‘Your career matters’ reflects a culture that truly values growth and learning,” she says. “I’m excited to be part of a company that invests in both its future and its people.”

Outside of work, Susanthi enjoys a good thriller. She recently watched The Night Agent and was hooked by its fast-paced, twist-filled plot. “It’s a great pick if you like political thrillers and suspense,” she says.
