We are pleased to continue introducing our summer interns and learning about their background and their professional interests. This week we welcome back actuarial interns Jack Hillesheim and Anna Puhek!

Jack Hillesheim

Jack is a student at the University of Minnesota, and is originally from Eagan, MN. He had interned remotely with Intact last year, and now has joined the Actuarial team in our Boston office. This year, he hopes to learn more about the insurance industry and gain some experience in predictive modeling. Additionally, he wants to explore Boston as much as he can so he can decide if he would like to move to the city in the future.

“My favorite part about Intact is that it’s a specialty insurer. It’s amazing that it has different coverages and business units within one company. It provides a lot of opportunity to learn and move around. I also like the people. It’s a great culture, which makes work fun every day,” says Jack.

If he had a chance to go anywhere in the world, he would choose to go to Egypt. He wants to see the pyramids and the Red Sea which “has some of the best reefs in the world!”

Anna Puhek

Anna also joined us again this summer, and is currently attending the University of St. Thomas. “This year, I am hoping to gain a deeper understanding of the P&C industry and build on my technical skills from last year. It’s rewarding for me to see how my work can make processes smoother for my colleagues,” she says.

Anna, who is from Lakeville, MN, had a “fantastic experience interning at Intact last summer” and is excited to return to the interesting work and friendly company culture. She recently studied abroad in Italy which has motivated her to explore more of Europe. She would love to go to Germany and Austria in the future.

Best of luck Jack and Anna! We look forward to working with you and being a part of your career development.
