Recently, a few members of the Intact Insurance Legal team employees spent their time volunteering in their community – at a food distribution center run by Second Harvest in Orange County, California.
Maria Duarte, Lelian Maximous, Mark Buehler and Richard Bishop volunteered as a team to sort and process fresh produce donated to the organization’s food bank leading up to the holidays.
The center procures food from over 300 distribution partners like manufacturers, farmers, packers, hotels and restaurants. After collection and assortment, food is distributed to those in need in the community – the working poor, children, seniors on fixed incomes, single parents, veterans and more. Second Harvest’s mission is to end hunger in Orange County.
