Intact’s Scott Lyons, Herbert Flournoy, Pam Pearson, Beth Lopez, Chris Moede, and Peter Burt proudly took part in The Barney & Barney Foundation’s 12th annual Orange County Golf Classic sponsored by our Charitable Trust. It was a beautiful day on the links in Dana Point, and we’re so glad to continue to support the foundation’s mission in working with various non-profit organizations making a difference in California communities.

Intact Specialty Solutions proudly celebrates our 2024 TCDIP clerks Ahmed Jama, Paul Leon and Dhruv Patel. Twin Cities Diversity in Practice (TCDIP) is a nonprofit association of more than 70 law firms and corporate legal departments who share a vision to create a vibrant and inclusive legal community and a mission to strengthen the efforts of Member Organizations to attract, recruit, advance, and retain attorneys of color. As a Membership Organization of TCDIP, we acknowledge and applaud the work of our 3 TCDIP law students who are working in our Claims and Corporate Legal departments. Ahmed Jama
My name is Ahmed Jama. Currently working as a clerk at Intact Insurance out of the Plymouth, MN office. I am working with the claims legal group. I am a rising 2L at Mitchell Hamline School of Law in St. Paul, MN. In law school I gravitated towards contract law so my time at Intact has been an intellectually stimulating experience given the natural affinity between insurance and contract law. I am very much excited about continuing to gain a more nuanced understanding of Insurance as a practice.
I moved to Minnesota in 2019 from the D.C. metro area. Outside of work, I am a huge movie buff. I enjoy all genres, from silent to Avant-garde but I am most passionate about film noir. In my spare time I enjoy exercising, reading history and 19th century fiction.
Paul Leon
I’m Paul Leon and I joined Intact Insurance as a 2024 summer law clerk in the Claims Legal and Coverage Litigation Groups. I will be starting my second year at the University of Minnesota Law School in the fall and I’m excited to learn more about insurance law and working with a corporation. Law is actually my second career. I previously worked in education as a teacher and program coordinator. So far, I’m very happy in my new pursuits and I enjoy working alongside smart people to solve complex problems. I’m grateful for the welcome I’ve received at Intact and for the opportunity to grow in legal practice.
Outside the office, I’m joyfully busy with my newborn son, George. One day, though, I hope to have time again to read, cook, golf, and enjoy all there is to do outside in Minnesota.
Dhruv Patel
My name is Dhruv Patel, and I am a rising 2L at the University of Chicago Law School. I am originally from Orlando, Florida and attended the University of Notre Dame for undergrad. Between undergrad and law school, I worked as a product owner in the healthcare space. In my free time, I enjoy watching sports, building Legos, and gardening.
