Intern Spotlight Series: Introducing interns Ayana Rivera, Max Hull, Matan Morse and Lucas Aguiar

We’re excited to keep the momentum going with our summer intern spotlight series! Over the next few weeks, we’ll be introducing each of our interns and sharing a glimpse into their backgrounds, interests, and what brought them to Intact. This week, we’re proud to feature Ayana Rivera, Max Hull, Matan Morse and Lucas Aguiar.

Ayana Rivera

We’re excited to welcome Ayana to our operations team in Connecticut this summer. Ayana is originally from Elizabeth, New Jersey but she is currently studying at Capital Community College in Connecticut.

With a growing interest in the insurance industry, she’s eager to build on what she’s learned in school and apply it in a professional setting. “I hope to gain knowledge of the insurance industry and further my communication skills and work ethic,” she shares. Ayana discovered her passion for insurance during her studies, which ultimately led her to Intact. “At my last school, I studied insurance, and I knew it was the path I wanted to pursue,” she explains.

Outside of work, if Ayana could travel anywhere in the world she would head to Costa Rica. She also tells us the last book she enjoyed was November 9 by Colleen Hoover.

Max Hull

Max is from Vestavia Hills, Alabama and attends Drexel University in Philadelphia. This summer, he will be working with our Surety team in our Philadelphia office, bringing with him a strong interest in the underwriting side of the insurance industry.

He’s looking forward to gaining practical experience and a deeper understanding of how underwriters operate in the surety space. “I’m hoping to gain experience and knowledge of the day-to-day operations of underwriters in the surety world,” he shares. Max first heard about Intact through a former teammate who now works here. “I heard nothing but great things about the company and wanted to learn more about the surety business world during my Co-Op/internship semester of school,” he explains.

In his free time, Max enjoys watching television series. The last series he watched was Severance on Apple TV, which explores the boundaries between work and personal identity.

Matan Morse

Matan is from Roanoke, Virginia and attends the University of Virginia. This summer, he will be working with our IT team in the Salem, Virginia office, where he’s excited to “contribute to a real-world product and do work which real people will use and benefit from” he shares.

He is looking forward to learning from experienced professionals and building practical skills. “I’m hoping to help develop and maintain an interesting set of software tools,” he says. Matan was drawn to Intact because of the “international scope.” Having a view of business and the world beyond the United States is something I hope to learn a lot from” he says.

Outside of work, Matan describes himself as “a huge ancient history nerd and chef.” He hopes to visit Italy someday to explore both passions. He’s also been reading The Hobbit and enjoying Tolkien’s “simple but elegant description of his world and characters” he shares.

Lucas Aguiar

Lucas is from Beverly, Massachusetts and attends Bentley University. This summer, he’s working with our Actuary team in the Boston office, where he’s excited to apply his academic background in a professional setting and explore the day-to-day work of an actuary.

He’s eager to build technical skills while learning from experienced professionals. Lucas first connected with Intact at the Bentley Career Fair, where a conversation with a former intern stood out. “Gavin from the actuarial team talked about how carefully thought out the program was and how much he enjoys the people he works with. That level of enthusiasm and togetherness made me eager to become a part of the team” he shares.

Outside of work, Lucas enjoys reading and recently finished The Promise by Damon Galgut. If given the chance to travel anywhere, he’d choose Sicily, to explore the rich history and culture.
