The month of March is nationally observed as Women’s History Month – a time to recognize the struggles and accomplishments of women in the history of the United States.
The roots of this celebration lie in “Women’s History Week” that started as a local event in Santa Rosa, California, and was proclaimed a national event on March 7, 1982.
By 1987, Congress had declared the month of March as Women’s History Month.
The cornerstone event – International Women’s Day – is observed globally on March 8 every year since 1977. This year’s theme is “Choose to Challenge”.
At Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions, we continue our journey to build dialogue around diversity, equity and inclusion. This month, we will spend time reflecting on the contributions made by women to evolve our country and our industry.
