Transforming a Backyard into a World of Wonder

Earlier this month, our Accident & Health team supported Deirdre’s House, one of our local community engagement nonprofit partners, that provides resources to victims of child abuse and neglect. The team helped plan and execute a Back-to-School Science fair, and transformed the non-profit’s backyard into a science lab, complete with experiment stations, including slime making and baking soda volcanos.  Food was generously donated by local pizza parlors.

It was an educational day filled with pizza and science that helped Deirdre House families focus on fun.

Spinning Support into Action

Our Accident & Health team proudly rolled up their sleeves to clean and decorate Deirdre’s House — one of our community engagement nonprofit partners — in preparation for its open house on April 9. The space was sanitized, organized, and adorned with blue pinwheels, the national symbol for Child Abuse Prevention Month.

In further support of the nonprofit’s vital mission, the A&H team launched a “Dine to Donate” campaign in April to raise funds and awareness for Deirdre’s House, which provides critical resources and services to children who have experienced abuse or neglect.

The campaign gained strong local support, with four Morristown-based restaurants donating a portion of their proceeds on select dates. Flyers promoting the initiative were placed in 15 local shops, and the effort received a meaningful boost from Morristown Eats, a local social media influencer who helped amplify the campaign on the nonprofit’s social channels.

Intact’s Tina Angelone said, “It’s a privilege to support Deirdre’s House and stand alongside them to protect children against abuse and neglect. Giving back in even the smallest ways creates an enormous ripple effect we are proud to be part of.”

Accident & Health team members host community dinner

Earlier this month, volunteers from our Plymouth office hosted the second annual Community Dinner for the Jeremiah Program, their Community Engagement Partner, at their Minneapolis campus. Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que catered the event that fed 25 moms and 25 kids. Goodie bags were also gifted to each child. We are proud to partner with the Jeremiah Program, a national organization with a mission to disrupt the cycle of poverty for single mothers and their children, two generations at a time. Kudos to our colleagues for demonstrating the spirit of generosity.

Accident & Health Annual Meeting with Community Giveback

Our Accident & Health team recently gathered in Morristown, NJ, for their annual meeting, where they were joined by Pamela Bracher, Deputy General Counsel of the American Trucking Associations, Michael Seff, our Senior Vice President, North America Specialty Lines, Fred Bunsa from PraxisPartners, LLC and Lisa Duff, MS from our Learning and Development team. Each shared valuable insights and information from their respective areas of expertise as a component of the meeting agenda.

As part of the event, the team embraced one of our core values—generosity—by participating in a group giveback. They assembled dog beds, dog toys and cat toys for One Step Closer Animal Rescue (O.S.C.A.R.), a local shelter. O.S.C.A.R. even joined us for a special puppy yoga session while accepting the items, ensuring that the animals waiting for adoption can enjoy a little extra comfort!

Our Morristown team supports two local nonprofits

This Spring, our Morristown, NJ office community engagement team is in full swing, providing hands on support to two local nonprofits. They partnered again this year with Deirdre’s House, a community advocacy center for children of abuse and neglect. They cleaned and decorated the home for the season, freshened its backyard, and hosted a food and hygiene supply drive (collecting more than 5 full boxes of supplies). The team also supported nourish.NJ by compiling 35 breakfast packs that included messages of encouragement for the recipients. We appreciate our teammates continual care for their community!
