Spinning Support into Action

Our Accident & Health team proudly rolled up their sleeves to clean and decorate Deirdre’s House — one of our community engagement nonprofit partners — in preparation for its open house on April 9. The space was sanitized, organized, and adorned with blue pinwheels, the national symbol for Child Abuse Prevention Month.

In further support of the nonprofit’s vital mission, the A&H team launched a “Dine to Donate” campaign in April to raise funds and awareness for Deirdre’s House, which provides critical resources and services to children who have experienced abuse or neglect.

The campaign gained strong local support, with four Morristown-based restaurants donating a portion of their proceeds on select dates. Flyers promoting the initiative were placed in 15 local shops, and the effort received a meaningful boost from Morristown Eats, a local social media influencer who helped amplify the campaign on the nonprofit’s social channels.

Intact’s Tina Angelone said, “It’s a privilege to support Deirdre’s House and stand alongside them to protect children against abuse and neglect. Giving back in even the smallest ways creates an enormous ripple effect we are proud to be part of.”

From the Classroom to the Courtroom

This month, Intact had the privilege of attending the National Bar Association’s 2025 Gateway to Success Conference — an inspiring event dedicated to empowering the next generation of Black American legal professionals. We were honored to be part of this remarkable gathering.

A special shoutout to our very own Jim Bynoe, Chief Claims Counsel, who expertly moderated a dynamic panel on Insurance Law alongside law students from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law, an HBCU.

We’re also proud to support this mission by contributing to the organization’s scholarship program, which helps students take meaningful steps toward their legal careers.

Packing Hope

Recently, several of our Connecticut-based teammates dedicated an afternoon to volunteering with Connecticut Foodshare. Together they inspected, sorted, and packed 5,170 pounds of non-perishable food, which will be distributed to food pantries, meal services, and mobile sites across the state.

As the sole food bank in Connecticut, Foodshare plays a vital role in fighting hunger and fostering a thriving, food-secure community. We are proud to support their mission and contribute to making a meaningful difference.

Warm Times on a Chilly Day

Chilly temperatures and cool vibes were in store for our Boston teammates’ volunteering at United South End Settlements during school vacation week. To honor Black History Month, the kids explored the history of black music, including listening to iconic hits and activities uplifting these artists. Several volunteers helped the younger children make their own microphones, while others supported drawing self-portraits. The morning wrapped up with “free play” with their Intact visitors joining in the fun. We look forward to our next date volunteering at our Community Engagement partner USES!

The Legacy We Live

February is Black History Month whose 2025 theme is “African Americans & Labor.” In support, our teammates are invited to a Fireside Chat sponsored by EMBRACE — our BIPOC ERG — as we explore the African American workplace journey leading to the inclusive cultures we know today. We will hear from three inspiring professionals in our industry (Lynnette Espy-Williams, Sylvia Goss, and Brenton Mitchell), reflecting on how history and their family lineage forged their pathways, and how we can empower future generations. Looking forward!
